The stamp is that of Jacob-Desmalter et Cie., the partnership of Georges Jacob and his son François-Honoré-Georges, from 1803-1813.
This chair is identical to a fauteuil from a suite delivered by Jacob-Desmalter in 1809 for the Salon de l'Impératrice at Compiègne, illlustrated S. Grandjean, Empire Furniture 1800 to 1825, 1966, p. 100, no. 49a. Another fauteuil from this set was sold Christie's, New York, 1 November 1989, lot 67.
