A LARGE FAHUA BALUSTER JAR AND COVER, GUAN MING DYNASTY
The sides decorated in raised relief with two courtiers first seen conversing outside a pavilion and then on horseback and accompanied by two attendants as they approach another pavilion, set between a band of petal lappets below and a cloud collar on the shoulder above, the slightly waisted neck with detached cloud scrolls, all in yellow, aubergine, turquoise and cream on a deep purplish-blue ground, the interior glazed green, the cover en suite, neck restored, drilled and mounted on a gilt-metal stand--17 1/4in. (43.8cm.) high
