engraving, mezzotint and roulette, 1854, on India appliqué, a rich impression with unusually sharp contrasts, an artist's proof before title, signed in pencil by the engraver, published by Goupil and Co., with margins, small rusted tack holes across the image at top and at the extreme edge of the appliqué at bottom, a line of soft rubbing in the sky at left, a few very soft and unobtrusive surface scuffs and a few tiny surface scratches or nicks in the image, occasional extremely pale and unobtrusive staining, otherwise in very good condition, framed
