A CHIPPENDALE CARVED WALNUT HIGH-CHEST-OF-DRAWERS

In two sections: the upper case with molded cornice above three short over two short over three graduated and thumb-molded long drawers flanked by fluted quarter columns; the lower case with mid-molding above a single thumb-molded long drawer over three similar short drawers above a shaped apron centering a concave carved shell flanked by fluted quarter columns, on cabriole legs with ball-and-claw feet, brasses appear to be original, bears brass plaque on top section inscribed, "John Bartram/Botanist/Philadelphia 1772" (two knee returns missing)--83¾in. high, 43 7/8in. wide, 23½in. deep
