A FINE CELADON CUPSTAND
KORYO DYNASTY (12TH CENTURY)

The cupstand with saucer set on a raised and flared foot with incised and carved relief decoration, the stand incised to represent a lotus-pod, the sides incised with leaf forms embellished with flowering plants, the saucer rim with a scrolling peony design, set beneath a fine, rich and bubble-suffused celadon glaze - 1 5/8 x 7in. (4.2 x 17.8cm.), short firing crack restored in gold lacquer
