Folio, 383 x 296 mm, contemporary English red half-morocco and marbled paper sides, upper cover detached, corners and edges worn, final leaf of text with a stain, title slightly dust-soiled and a little spotted.

FIRST EDITION. Title printed in red and black and 17 uncolored engraved plates containing illustrations of 62 subjects (first and last plate are full-page single illustrations, the rest four subjects per page) by Mark Catesby and based on the illustrations in his Natural History.
