8 vols., 4to, 290 x 230 mm., contemporary mottled calf, spines gilt and with black and green morocco labels, extremities slightly rubbed, edges of most plates creased where folded into gutters, many of these edges with small nicks.

FIRST EDITION. 8 hand-colored etched title vignettes each devoted to a different botanist and 800 hand-colored etched plates by Kerner. 4-leaf subscribers' list bound in following title containing 91 names for a total of 100 sets.

A very rare German flower book. Only one location (Vassar College) is recorded in NUC. Stafleu and Cowan only saw the incomplete Berlin copy.
