FRANCHET, ADRIEN, RENÉ. [Archive of Franchet Material]. A collection of 132 off-prints, corrected proofs, plate proofs, original drawings etc. V.p., v.d. 132 items, various 8vo sizes, many in original printed wrappers, condition varies. An enormous assembly of Franchet's working proofs, mostly relating to Chinese botany and his publication of the Abbé Pierre Jean Marie Delavay material (his herbarium contained 15600 specimens). Included are 46 proof plates for the Plantae delavayanae (this includes the unpublished plate 46), the 61 original drawings for these plates by d'Apréval, of which only 45 were published, and preprints of Franchet with his corrections, etc. See Stafleu & Cowan TL2 1848.
