FIRST EDITION. The work is identical to Fuchs's Primi de Stirpium Historia Commentariorum (see lot ???), including the same botatnical woodcuts made under the supervision of Fuchs, but it has a dedication to King Ferdinand and a letter to the reader, both in German.

Provenance: Hoffmayer, contemporary inscription on title -- MS verses at end dated 13 Aug. 1769 -- Kenneth K. Mackenzie; Horticultural Society of New York, bookplate and blindstamp.
