TWO SMALL JADE CARVINGS
18TH CENTURY
One a pale grayish-white jade carving of two quail shown recumbent atop a large leaf, with a sprig of lingzhi fungus grasped within their beaks, with some added russet coloring, the other a white jade carving of a kneeling boy holding a leafy stem over his back, of flattened pebble form and pierced for stringing; together with a soapstone seal carved with two dragons--2 5/8 and 2 in. (6.7 and 5.1cm.) long (3)
