AN ARCHAIC BRONZE TWO-HANDLED CIRCULAR FOOD VESSEL, GUI LATE SHANG/EARLY ZHOU DYNASTY
Cast with a pair of looped lug handles issuing from horned animal heads and supported on a waisted conforming foot, decorated with a band of stylized taotie masks, similarly repeated below the upper rim, divided by further solitary animal masks at the front and back, the center of the interior with a pictogram, the surface of the metal with areas of light green encrustation - width across handles 10 1/2 in. (26.5 cm.)
