A BRONZE RITUAL WINE VESSEL, FANGHU
EARLY WESTERN HAN DYNASTY

The faceted, pear-shaped body raised on a flared pedestal foot and cast on the shoulder with a pair of scaly taotie masks suspending loose rings, with a raised border encircling the mouth rim, with brownish patina and green reddish-brown encrustation--15 3/8 in. (39cm.) high
