Lot Essay

Fukurokuju is often confused with Jurojin because each has a long head. They are more easily distinguished by their attributes: Fukurokuju, as the God of Wisdom, carries the handscroll of knowledge, Jurojin, as the God of Longevity, is accompanied by the tortoise and the crane.
Judging by the unobtrusive aspect of the inlays on the figure it may be dated to Tokoku's early period.
