An Oceanic blackamoor, or kurombojin in Japanese, who is a coral fisherman shaving himself with the sharp edge of a shell.

Hojitsu was a retainer of the Shogun who was sponsored by the Daimyo of Tsugaru and is regarded highly by collectors. The coral fisherman is one of his favorite subjects.
