Paid printed frank (Haller FP1, type 3a), with horse and rider, brown cover, used with 3c Claret (11), cut in and pen-cancelled, not tied, to San Francisco, edgewear and light toning, still quite fresh and nearly very fine, scarce and attractive use, this should have been on a stamped envelope, so this appears to have been a technical violation of the law allowing express company to operate
