A VICTORIAN SILVER AND CUT GLASS CENTERPIECE, London, 1859, maker's mark of William Smily, the high waisted, crest engraved, triangular base on four elaborate rocaille and scroll feet, the base with decorated corners, with screw in acanthus spreading stem, issuing three detachable foliate branches with circular openwork frame for cut glass, scalloped rimmed dish, the center conforming frame and bowl supported by acanthus headed straps--the silver 15½in. (39.3cm.) high, 78oz.
