A SILVER CHINOISERIE STYLE COFFEE POT, apparently unmarked, baluster, on spreading gadrooned and shell decorated shaped circular foot, two sides elaborately chased with scene of Chinawomen picking tea in pyramid setting, enclosed by scrolls, between lion's mask and shell, above one engraved with crest, the foliate scroll spout with rocaille surround, the wood scroll handle with one grotesque mask socket, the back with pagoda, the surface further enhanced with fishscale and matting, the hinged molded raised cover conformingly decorated and topped by partly fluted acorn finial--11½in. (29.2cm.) high, gross weight 39.5oz.
