A PAIR OF LOUIS XVI ORMOLU, WHITE AND SIENA MARBLE FOUR-LIGHT CANDELABRA
LATE 18TH CENTURY

Each with baluster-shaped vessel fitted with pierced handles cast as vine branches issuing grape clusters fitted with blossoming stems ending in flower-cast bobêches, on graduated plinth fitted with engine-turned banding - 19in. (48cm.) high

A virtually identical pair of candelabra is in the Cabinet de la Méridienne at Versailles and illustrated in G. van der Kemp, Versailles, 1977, p. 110.
