Lot Essay

This group includes 5 series of hand studies, presumeably those of Thomas Eakins, taken at a farm in Saranac Lake in the Adirondacks. Eakins involvement was arranged through J. Liberty Todd, an art patron and personal friend of Muybridge's. Also included are 92 studies of human locomotion (the majority women) and 18 animal studies (the majority horses).
