Lindbergh was promoted to the rank of colonel by Calvin Coolidge but retained this title for only a short interlude. Franklin Delano Roosevelt later stripped him of his title due to his sympathetic political stance toward Germany during World War I.

Nesensohn was the most important New York Times photographer in the 1920s-30s.
