"A wonderfully rich vintage, following an excellent growing season: warm summer, fully ripe crop picked early from Sept. 16. Despite the problems encountered when the grapes are picked and fermented in heat, the '47 burgundies seem, in retrospect, more stable than their peers in Bordeaux. (The La Tâche) medium pale; fragrant, singed, slightly malty bouquet; very sweet. A wine of great power and length." JMB
