Sotheby's label reading "Claret 1819" with "mid-shoulder" fill; short, stout bottle with very low shoulder level; mahogany rim, mature red color; no capsule
This was purchased by the current owner at a 1979 London auction. A bottle tasted at that time was noted as having "excellent pink red color, mushroom nose, lots of fruit, balanced, improved after one half hour in the glass."
