KAKO: kakuban surimono (21.9 x 18.7 cm.); the actors Ichikawa Danjuro VII and Segawa Kikunojo V, both dressed in formal kamishimo, in the company of two courtesans and a manservant barely visible holding a lantern behind Danjuro, signed Ukiyo Kako and sealed- fine impression, very good color and condition, gauffrage and silver dust

Robert Vergez, sold in these rooms, June 27, 1984, lot 71, with a note listing Kako as an amateur surimono artist active in the late Bunka and early Bunsei periods
