Lot Essay

Undoubtedly made for members of Simon Singer's family, these plates relate to plates signed by the maker, "S. Singer/Potter," in the collections of the Philadelphia Museum of Art and the Mercer Museum (Garvan, p.197, fig. 116 and Singer, p. 66).
