The gilt platform with counterpoised right angle lever escapement, uncut bimetallic balance, striking and repeating the hours and quarters on gongs switch in base for grande/petite sonnerie and, silence, white enamel arabic chapter ring and subsidiary white enamel alarm ring within pierced gilt mask finely chased with foliage and flower heads, blued steel hands, within a moulded case with fluted corner columns and handle, c. 1885 c. -- 7½in.
