Of rectangular form mounted en cage, the brown agate cover and base carved with elaborate swirls, the sides with chevron ornament, with wavy gold mounts, the hinged cover with foliate scroll and rocaille thumbpiece, apparently unmarked except for late French control marks --2 1/2in. (6.3cm.) long
