Of deep oval form, the sides engraved with floral swags and ribbon, the base with a presentation inscription, the cover with the arms of the town of Castlebar within an oval cartouche flanked by foliage, all within bright-cut borders, apparently unmarked--3 1/2in. (9cm.)

The inscription reads: The FREEDOM of the Corporation of Castlebar Granted the 20th Septr 1789 to GEORGE SHEA ESQr.
