A GEORGE III SILVER GILT WINE COASTER, London, 1817, maker's mark of Edward Farrell, cylindrical, with wood turned base, the high sides chased with scenes of mounted gentry attacking a peasant, another with soldier bringing home a fallen comrade draped over a horse, further decorated with architecture, thistles, plants and trees on matted ground, centering scroll and rocaille enclosed shaped oval cartouche engraved with coat of arms, with foliate shell, rocaille and C scroll applied everted rim--the base 5¾in. (14.6cm.) diam.
