A SILVER COVERED BASKET, bearing marks for London, 1837, maker's mark WB, the cover 1896, maker's mark of John Vander, rounded rectangular on four part openwork entwined leafy vine feet, the slightly flaring sides chased with basketwork, with fixed overhead "raffia" handle, later applied with two hinged flat covers topped by ball pull, the dividing panel engraved with cypher--10in. (25.4cm.) long, 62.5oz.
