AN IRON-DECORATED JAR
YI DYNASTY (17TH CENTURY)

The high-shouldered ovoid jar with upright neck boldly painted in iron-brown with a dragon shrouded in misty clouds, its spine rendered in two long sections twisting in and out of the mist represented by the white glazed body of the jar which 'obscures' the head and limbs of the dragon, finished with a high gloss transparent glaze- 8 3/4 in. (22.2 cm.) high, neck restored, long body crack
