(10 5/8 x 8 7/16 x 13/16in.), gray morocco gilt, each cover with green onlaid morocco gilt strapwork border, enclosing a full panel decoration comprising a blue onlaid morocco gilt strapwork interlocking lozenge over a curving red strapwork onlay supporting a vellum onlaid shield at the center bearing a single gilt fleur-de-lys, the design set on a background of swirling gilt scrollwork tooling incorporating circular corner ornaments of onlaid white, green, blue and red morocco; spines in six compartments with five raised bands, gilt lettered longitudinally; board edges and turn-ins gilt, doublures of green and gray morocco, decoratively tooled with colored heraldic onlays, fleur-de-lys on vellum shield at centers, g.e., stamp-signed by the bindery on upper turn-ins, original padded satin-lined white watered silk boxes (worn).
