A PORTUGUESE SILVER EWER AND BASIN, Oporto, 1886-1938, inverted ovoid, on molded raised circular base, the body and base chased with flutes divided by reeds, the shoulder chased with undulating floral band, centering two sided vacant circular cartouche within foliate scrolls, the long neck engraved with initials L D, with broad shaped spout, with stylized bird's head scroll handle--17½in. (44.4cm.) high, the deep circular bowl with plain center enclosed by radiating flutes, the shoulder with conforming band to the shoulder of the ewer, also initialled, with everted border and applied rim--17¾in.
