The style of the figure reflects that of Andrea Ricco, in his classsizing relief of the Finding of the True Cross, Museo Archeologico, Venice: a similar statuette of a warrior in Roman armour, with arms outstretched was in the Kohner Collection, Budapest (cf. Planiscig, pl. 250).
