Oval, the rim hung with four ring handles set with grapes, the bowl above a lobed oval base with a band of grapes and vines, on a spreading oval foot, the base inscribed and dated 1937, marked 296A--5 1/4in high, 14 1/4in. wide

The inscription on the base reads: Presented to William Mitchell Lybrand with the Affectionate Regards his New York partners on the Fifteenth Anniversary of his entry into the Accountancy Profession, 1887-1937
