Nukagawa Yasukuni (b. 1776) was originally a member of the Tanabe family but he took his name Nukagawa from his teacher Nukagawa Yasunori. He also studied under Tamagawa Yoshinaga. All of these artists worked in Mito in Hitachi, under the control of the Tokugawa branch line resident there.
