The oval gilt movement with ringed vase pillars, ratchet and pawl setup, gut fusee (now with chain), four wheel going train (lacking balance and staff), floral pierced cock secured by screw, hour striking train with nag's head and numbered count wheel (detent lacking), beneath pierced plate formerly carrying bristle regulator, index engraved on backplate, the bell and hammer planted on pillar plate under circular silver dial engraved with roman chapters enclosing view of town, blued steel baluster hand, the gilt case engraved with leafy scrolls incorporating original oval lid pierced and engraved with flowers birds and scrolls movement and case lid c. 1620; case, mid-19th century -- 45mm. long
