AN ITALIAN RENAISSANCE WROUGHT-IRON MOUNTED WALNUT CHEST-ON-CHEST
With rectangular stepped leaf-tip carved dentil cornice above a panelled frieze fitted with two short drawers carved sans traverse with fruit-bearing putti above a double-hinged fall-front enclosing an architectural interior fitted with a central cupboard door enclosing three short drawers surrounded by four drawers carved with caryatids flanked by two cupboard doors enclosing three short drawers surrounded by five panelled drawers flanked by figural supports emblematic of Fertility, the base with a pair of frieze drawers above a pair of cupboard doors, the sides panelled, carved overall with scantily clad figures, on gadrooned plinth and paw feet (restorations)-72in. (183cm.) high, 36½in. (92.5cm.) wide, 17in. (43cm.) deep
