With rectangular top above a hinged fall-front mounted with pierced clasps before faded scarlet cut velvet panels alternating with three lion's masks and enclosing a parcel-gilt bone-inlaid Hispano-Mooresque architectural facade comprising fifteen variously decorated drawers with scallop-cast pulls, the sides with wrought-iron carrying handles, the associated base fitted with two short drawers above a cupboard door, all panelled with geometric bone-mounted pattern and gadrooned banding, the sides panelled and with loop carrying handles, on block feet-the vargueño-24in. (61cm.) high, 37½in. (95cm.) wide, 16½in. (42cm.) deep; the base-36in. (91cm.) high, 47½in. (120cm.) wide, 20½in. (52cm.) deep
