A PAIR OF GOTO SCHOOL MENUKI
MOMOYAMA PERIOD (CIRCA 1575)
Each piece is of shakudo nanako ground with a rounded rim and the center area formed as a raised cushion shape. The rim is decorated with six go-san kiri mon, with a larger kiri mon in the center, all in gold uttori.

The cover of the box attributes this pair of menuki to Goto Kojo (1529-1620), the fourth Shirobei mainline master.
