A GOTO ICHIJO SCHOOL TSUBA
EDO PERIOD (CIRCA 1850)
The round-cornered, trapezoidal-shaped shibuichi plate has a slightly raised rim and a polished edge. The plate is carved and inlaid with a plum tree, the flowers are in copper, silver and gold. The bamboo and chrysanthemums are in shakudo and gold. The sekigane in the central opening are of silver--height 6.4cm., width 5.7cm., thickness 3.0mm.
