AN OMORI SCHOOL DAISHO FUCHI KASHIRA
MID-EDO PERIOD (CIRCA 1775), EACH SIGNED OMORI EISHU (TERUHIDE, [1730-1789]) WITH KAO
Each fuchi has a shakudo nanako ground and is carved in very high relief with classic Omori waves embellished with gold dots of spray, a gold inlaid sun setting behind them. The kashira are also shakudo nanako with carved high relief of crashing waves and an eagle perched on a rock above, each embellished with gold dots of spray and other gold highlights. Each fuchi signed on the tenjo-gane--dai fuchi: length 3.95cm., width 2.35cm., height 1.45cm.; dai kashira: length 3.5cm., width 1.8cm., height 1.2cm.; sho fuchi: length 3.5cm., width 1.8cm., height 1.4cm.; sho kashira: length 3.4cm., width 1.7cm., height 1.3cm.
