A TSUCHIYA STYLE KOZUKA
EDO PERIOD (CIRCA 1850)

The copper plate is mixed on the surface with gold to give the effect of water. A silver inlay moon and grasses carved in brushstroke style (katakiribori) decorate the face. The reverse with rain-style file marks and kao, lower right--length 9.7cm., width 1.5cm., thickness 4.5mm.
