A SILVER-GILT MOUNTED CAMEO
THE CAMEO PROBABLY ENGLISH, DATED 1791, THE MOUNT CIRCA 1880
Of oval form, carved to depict two boys in profile facing left, dressed as Roman emperiors, signed lower right MAR. A.F., April 1791; the mount elaborately cast and chased as a laurel wreath surmounted by crossed torches, the pedestal base raised on two acanthus feet, the reverse with hinged stand form as a lyre, in fitted leather case signed J. CHAUMET, Sr. de MOREL & Cie, L154 New Bond Street, London, 12 Place Vendome, Paris - 4 3/4in. (12cm.) high
