ATTRIBUTED TO THE SWING PAINTER
CIRCA 530-525 B.C.
With flaring mouth, round handles and echinus foot, details in added red and white, rays above the foot, lotus buds above each scene, with, on one side, three nude komasts, the figure to the left, facing left, wearing a conical cap, the figure in the center, facing right, carrying a rhyton, and the figure to the right facing left, and on the other side, three warriors in combat, the figure to the left facing right, wearing a crested Corinthian helmet and carrying a spear in upraised right hand, the figure in the center facing right with head turned to the left with spear in hand, the figure to the right, facing left, wearing crested Corinthian helmet--15 1/8in. (37.8 cm) high
