ARNOLD, MATTHEW. The Strayed Reveller, and Other Poems. By A. London: B. Fellowes 1849. Small 8vo, original dark green cloth, slightly marked, morocco pull-off case. FIRST EDITION of Arnold's third (and first hardcover) book, one of 500 copies printed (most of which, it is traditionally held, were withdrawn from circulation by Arnold shortly after publication), PRESENTATION COPY, apparently to Walter Savage Landor, inscribed by Arnold on the front free endpaper: "From the Author." Tinker 128; Hayward 256. A very good copy.
