A BLUE AND WHITE PORCELAIN BOTTLE
CHOSON PERIOD (19TH CENTURY)

The small bottle of square section rising from a slightly flared foot, the base recessed, to a sharply cut shoulder slanted inward to the horizontal shoulder, the neck also of square section flaring outward and ending in a square rim, painted in underglaze blue on each of the four sides with a rectangular panel of a riverscape framed by a narrow line border, the shoulder painted with a wavy line of foliate scroll next to a band of lappets, and the neck painted with a lower band of geometric decoration below a band of key frets- 4 1/2 in. (11.5 cm.) high
