Carved in the form of a large elephant supporting the figure of Buddha seated in meditative posture on a high lotus platform wearing unadorned drapery, the trappings of the elephant inlaid overall in coral, mother of pearl and colored ivory with encrusted floral side panels and florets and beadwork, a triple tiered lotus applied on the forehead and crown of the elephant, unsigned- 8 3/4 in.
