FIVE KUTANI PORCELAIN DISHES
(20TH CENTURY)

A group of dishes, comprising a shallow, circular dish with barbed rim decorated in enamels of blue, green, yellow, red and aubergine with a large panel of birds and flowers surrounded by a border of alternating panels of fretwork, diaperwork and 'precious things', a shallow and wide bowl decorated in enamels of aubergine, yellow, green and yellow with a stand of iris on a yellow pine ground within a border of further iris sprays, a larger bowl painted in similar enamels with a hillside pavilion within a landscape bordered by a wide band of shaped peony medallions on fields of dotted yellow, and a pair of dishes with a large round reserve of mountain pavilions within narrow borders of red enamel florets and a band of leaves, each marked on the underside in a square reserve Kutani- 10, 12 7/8, 14 1/2 and 10 in. (25.3, 32.7, 36.7 and 25.5 cm.) diameters, (5)
