A TALL CONICAL EARTHENWARE VASE
MEIJI PERIOD (LATE 19TH CENTURY), SIGNED YABU MEIZAN
Set on a slightly inverted ring foot, the tall conical vase decorated with a view of Mt. Fuji from a lake, sailboats and fishing boats at sail and numerous thatched huts nestled in the trees on the shoreline, rendered in gilt and enamels of green, grey and brown, the neck encircled by a narrow band of blue and black reserves containing gilt florets which suspend a long, lappet collar of overlapping flowerheads, the foot ringed by a narrow foliate band- 11 3/4 in. (29.8 cm.) high
