MEIJI PERIOD (LATE 19TH CENTURY), SIGNED YOZAN AND MARKED WITH SATSUMA MON
Set on a ring foot with fluted sides, the deep cup decorated in pale enamels and gilt on the interior with large butterflies below hanging vines of wisteria beginning on the gilt rim and trailing toward the cavetto, painted on the exterior in matching colors with a large rectangular panel of the seven gods of good fortune and an opposite panel of Chinese ladies on a lakeside balcony within borders of foliate scroll, flowerheads and small fan reserves- 3 in. (7.5 cm.) diameter
